Named Bay Area CFO of the Year Jack Jenkins-Stark Honored as Top-Rated CFO for Venture-Backed Company(Oakland, CA) June 5, 2009  BrightSource Energy, Inc., developer of , announced today that Chief Financial Officer Jack Jenkins-Stark has been named the Bay Area’s CFO of the Year. In an annual gathering hosted by the San Francisco Business Times, Jenkins-Stark was honored for his work as CFO of a venture-backed company in front of the more than 400 local business leaders and members of the media.

With Jenkins-Stark as CFO, BrightSource Energy has become a recognized leader in the solar thermal industry, signing more than 2.6 gigawatts of contracts with PG&E and Southern California Edison. The company has also constructed a demonstration plant in Israel, beenshort-listed for a U.S. Department of Energy Loan Guarantee and raised more than $160 million in funding from blue-chip investors including VantagePoint Venture Partners, Google.org, BP Alternative Energy, StatoilHydro Venture, Black River, Morgan Stanley, DBL Investors (formerly a subsidiary of JP Morgan), Draper Fisher Jurvetson, and Chevron Technology Ventures.

Jenkins-Stark brings extensive knowledge of the utility landscape to his role as CFO for BrightSource Energy by virtue of both his financial background and prior experience in the energy field. Jenkins-Stark joined BrightSource from the Silicon Valley Bank where he served as CFO for the SVB Financial Group. Jenkins-Stark previously served as Vice President of Business Operations and Technology at Itron, and as Senior Vice President and CFO at Silicon Energy Corporation. He has also served as Senior Vice President and CFO of GATX Capital and held senior management roles at PG&E Corporation for over twenty years, including Vice President and Treasurer and Senior Vice President for the Gas Supply Business unit.
