Solar Energy and Efficiency Company Partners for Sustainable Home Design
Any Sustainable Home Design Should Include Solar Energy
PermaCity Solar, a leader in specialized energy solutions, has announced a strategic partnership with Livingreen, a retail and consulting company dealing with sustainable homes. The unique collaboration between PermaCity and Livingreen will be a crucial step toward educating consumers on the benefits of energy conservation and how that can make solar a much more affordable option.
The partnership will also significantly increase PermaCity’s presence in Southern California, specifically Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.
“We’re excited to be collaborating with PermaCity on solar outreach in our community and are looking forward to extending their support and services to our customers.”
Wayne Pendrey, a prominent solar energy and efficiency consultant, played an active role in forming the partnership between PermaCity and Livingreen. “The partnership between PermaCity and Livingreen is very unique. The goal is to teach consumers not only about the benefits of solar but also other ways to conserve energy,” Pendrey says. “Two of the biggest barriers to installing solar energy systems are the affordability of the systems and lack of roof space. I am happy to be working with PermaCity, a firm that realizes the role energy conservation can play in eliminating these barriers.”
Launched in 1999, Livingreen offers healthy and sustainable choices in home building materials and furnishings. Livingreen stores will have extensive displays showcasing information on services installed and warranted by PermaCity including photovoltaics, solar thermal water heating, and solar thermal pool heating. Additionally, Livingreen staff will be trained to answer preliminary questions for those interested in learning more about PermaCity’s solar solutions. Partnering with PermaCity will significantly expand Livingreen’s current offering of energy products and complements their current product line which includes flooring, paint, cleaning products, energy efficient light bulbs and appliances, and water saving fixtures.
Herb Mendelsohn, PermaCity’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, comments, “We are proud to be working with Livingreen and believe this is the beginning of a beautiful, synergistic relationship. The people we’ve installed solar for are perfect customers for Livingreen, and Livingreen’s shoppers are perfect solar power candidates.”
Ellen Strickland, Founder of Livingreen, continues, “We’re excited to be collaborating with PermaCity on solar outreach in our community and are looking forward to extending their support and services to our customers.”
Information on PermaCity’s services is now available at all Livingreen locations.

Speaking of solar, as it turns out… FINALLY! Some serious steps towards a commercially available solar energy plan. Progress, progress.
