Add Your Solar Thermal Power Installation to the Map!

The New York City Solar America City Partnership, led by Sustainable CUNY, has launced the New York City Solar Map.

This map shows existing solar PV and solar thermal installations in NYC and gives an estimate of solar PV potential for every rooftop in the five boroughs. The New York City Solar Map is a tool that all New Yorkers can use to learn about the potential for solar on their buildings and across the city.

It also provides practical information and steps for installing solar.

About the Map.

The New York City Solar America City Partnership, led by Sustainable CUNY, is comprised of CUNY, the Mayor’s Office of Long-Term Planning and Sustainability, and the NYC Economic Development Corporation.

This map has been funded by the United States Department of Energy (DOE) “Solar America Cities” program, part of the Solar America Communities program. Additional funding was provided by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), and technical assistance was given by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and Con Edison. The map was created by the Center for Advanced Research of Spatial Information (CARSI) at CUNY’s Hunter College.
