How Many Jobs Have Been Created Cleaning Up a Solar Spill? Great Video Spoof Big Oil “Vote 4 Energy” Campaign

Big Oil is determined to use its astronomical profit levels, courtesy of American taxpayer subsidies thank you very much, to influence the upcoming 2012 election.  They have launched a “Vote 4 Energy” campaign in which they will try to persuade voters that it is in their best interest to vote for Republican candidates that will grease the wheels for the oil and gas industry to ratchet up domestic energy production regardless of the long term health and environmental consequences.  They will be financing commercials in which they want you to believe that average Americans support their agenda to increase profits in the name of energy security and jobs – two issues that will play well with Republican voters (see our post regarding the production of these commercials).

In response to this ad campaign the folks at PolluterWatch have produced a great parody video.  Have a look:
