Noribachi Patents Hybrid Solar-Grid Power Management System

Noribachi, an LED and solar smart energy products company,  has announced the issue of U.S. Patent 8,138,630 for a proprietary hybrid solar-grid .

Noribachi has developed and now patented a complex control system designed to regulate power supply between photovoltaic batteries, traditional grid energy and end use electronic applications.

This system can be used with an almost unlimited range of applications and is a revolutionary way to reduce energy consumption and mitigate the high upfront costs of new technologies. The capability to generate and store power with dramatically cuts traditional energy source usage, yet most solar systems rely on increasing the surface area of expensive to account for periods of limited functionality, such as cloudy days. The addition of this extra material is incredibly costly for the end consumer and often leads to hesitation about installing photovoltaic panels.

Retaining the ability to generate and store photovoltaic power, Noribachi’s hybrid grid system allows systems to be constructed without precautionary extra solar panels because they are not forced to be the sole energy generators for an electronic application, since the grid can always be turned to as a back-up energy source. This makes the far less expensive while still allowing consumers to drastically reduce dependence on the grid.

What makes Noribachi’s solution so advanced is its ability to regulate five : solar energy generation, solar energy storage, grid energy input, balance of control between solar and grid power, and application output. Managing each one of these systems independently, the Noribachi hybrid solution creates an intelligent array that seamlessly adapts to maximize .

Noribachi’s can be seen in several products and installations. Noribachi’s artisan-designed solar LED fixture, the Norilight, is available in options including full solar and hybrid and was successfully installed at Frenchy Field in Santa Fe, New Mexico as a completely off-grid lighting solution. Noribachi’s largest hybrid solar installation to date is at Sandia Resort and Casino in New Mexico, where Noribachi retrofitted 52 fixtures with custom solar panels and LED retrofit bulbs.

Noribachi hybrid lighting solutions power LED light sources using solar energy stored in batteries. Daylight charging normally provides enough power to run the light throughout the night. During periods of inclement weather, where solar power is less effective, the light will continue to function with grid power. Further system controls allow the adjustments of lights levels throughout the night, providing increasingly less light after midnight, when high levels of illumination are unnecessary, and further reducing energy consumption.

Noribachi’s patent extends beyond lighting applications, however, and multiple electronic components can be integrated into the hybrid system while still ensuring excellent efficiency and guaranteed redundancy in terms of the system’s operation.

Noribachi is revolutionizing the adoption of solar technologies not only through pivotal product development, but also by implementing innovative business solutions that make solar a more user-friendly experience for consumers. Noribachi recently standardized its , making upgrading to a solar solution a purchase with the ease of off-the-shelf shopping.

“Noribachi innovated energy efficiency solutions are not only groundbreaking but incredibly functional as well. Our ability to seamlessly integrate solar and grid power into any electronics application is phenomenal from the stand-point of end users–we’re making it possible to embrace energy efficient technology without the steep price tag, and without the added risk of uncertainty that solar generation brings with it. This instigates an entirely new ways of thinking about power, illumination, and energy management,” says Rhonda Dibachi, Noribachi CFO and inventor of the Noribachi hybrid system.
