CFV Solar Testing Laboratories Awarded Highly Coveted IS0-17025 Accreditation In Record Time

CFV Solar Test Laboratory (CFV), one of the nation’s premiere Photovoltaic Module testing facilities was awarded the highly coveted International Organization for Standardization’s ISO/ IEC17025 certification. This ensures CFV’s customers that testing will be done to the highest possible quality standards and enables CFV to test PV modules for listing with the California Energy Commission (CEC) program, required to get incentives in California.

CFV received their certification from the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA), a nonprofit, non-governmental, public service membership society.

“Getting the ISO IEC17025 certification in such short time illustrates how effective the CFV team can be in dealing with any task, no matter how small or how complex. This certification made CFV a better test lab by streamlining operations and procedures and improving and correcting any weak spots in the system. Our customers will notice and benefit from these improvements,” said Senior Vice-President and General Manager of CFV Martin Plass.

“CFV Quality Manager, Chase Henson, was the driving force behind setting up the system in only 6 months and getting us through the ISO/IEC17025 audit,” Plass stated.

To accomplish this, CFV created a complete quality management system from scratch with over 170 controlled documents, work procedures, logs, templates and forms.

“With so much interest in solar products and so many new players entering the market, the consumer can now be assured of the quality and reliability of their solar components if tested by CFV, not only saving them energy and money but also saving them worry,” Plass said.

CFV performs safety, performance and reliability testing of PV Solar modules as well as global product certification, combining testing for North American and International standards for the most advanced PV technologies.

CFV is a nationally recognized photovoltaic test center that opened in Albuquerque, New Mexico on April 7th, 2011. It is jointly owned by CSA International, VDE Testing and Certification Institute, Fraunhofer ISE and Fraunhofer CSE.
