TexStar National Bank Celebrates Solar Installation at Downtown Westside Branch
TexStar National Bank has implemented a plan to reduce fossil-fuel consumption at the lender’s San Antonio area office buildings. Bank officials say they are working to support the City of San Antonio area goals of becoming a clean-energy city and have already noticed an approximately 30% savings in overall energy costs. On Sunday, October 7, a “Green†ribbon cutting event was held at TexStar’s Downtown Westside Branch, located at 803 W. Commerce Street.
The Bank was also chosen as a showcase property of the Annual Solar Bus Tour organized by the local non-profit, Solar San Antonio. Participants were able to ask questions of the Senior Project Engineer from Borrego Solar, the firm responsible for the design of TexStar’s three branch solar installations about the cost and benefits of Solar Energy.
“As a community bank we consistently strive to behave responsibly in all areas of business,†says the bank’s CEO Byron Bexley.
Lending to small businesses in the San Antonio markets for almost a decade, TexStar Bank has focused on making an economic impact on the local community. Now we want to match that impact environmentally by reducing our energy consumption and being a good steward of our resources.
