Xcel Energy to offer Energy Efficiency Program in Sparta Wisconsin

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Xcel Energy in partnership with “Focus on Energy” is bringing the Express Energy Efficiency Program – the first of its kind in Wisconsin – to Sparta. Homeowners and small business owners looking for ways to save energy and money are encouraged to stop by Our Town Fresh Market in Sparta on Wednesday, Oct. 17, to learn how they can benefit from the free energy efficiency program offerings.

Trained ENERGY STAR® experts will be available 8 to 11 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. at the grocery store to share practical energy management suggestions and explain how Xcel Energy residential customers and eligible small business owners can take advantage of a free energy assessment at their home or business. An energy auditor will complete a walk-through assessment and install several energy-saving measures, such as CFL bulbs, faucet aerators, high-efficiency showerheads and insulation on hot and cold water pipes. Businesses also can receive LED “OPEN” signs and vending machine controllers. In addition, program participants will learn how they can receive cash back from Focus on Energy and matching incentives from Xcel Energy for implementing energy-efficient improvements.

“A few simple home product installations can result in small, but appreciable energy savings,” said Lori Drilling, residential program manager at Xcel Energy.

For 45 minutes of their time, Sparta homeowners and small business owners can get valuable energy efficiency information and energy-saving products absolutely free.
