Hybrid Solar-Biomass Refinery - New Mexico

New Mexico-based Sundrop Fuels recently announced that theyhave developed a hybrid solar-biomass refinery. The company plans to use concentrated solar power (CSP) to heat plant scraps and wood chips to create a biofuel. That biofuel can then be used to create gasoline or diesel fuel.

Draft Environmental Study Available for Proposed Solar Thermal Plants on Public Land

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) recently released for public comment a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) and the California Energy Commission (CEC) released a Final Staff Assessment (FSA) for the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generation Project on public land in San Bernardino County, California.
