Energy from the Deep Ocean

Here is a video illustrating the opportunites that exist with Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion technology. Deep water formation allows for temperature differentials of 40 degrees C off the coast of Puerto Rico. The video does a good job of explaining the propane closed loop OTEC plant. According to the narrator a  40 of these floating 100 Megawatt OTEC platforms could provide all of Puerto Rico’s electrical needs.
